Description
“One to One… is in part an archive, or retrospective survey of things made to be used. […] Inhabitation is a flowing continuous present. Identity, meanwhile, is an ongoing negotiation between interiority and the demands of the external world.”—Kirsty Bell
The book has been produced on the occasion of installation London-based artist Marc Camille Chaimowicz’s (born 1947) 2017 exhibition at Kestner Gesellschaft in Hanover. His new work, which lends the exhibition and the book their title, is a kind of “surrogate apartment,” scale 1:1, with provisional walls and skirting boards that demarcate the floor plan. The space within the installation is partially furnished in a way that alludes to possible living situations.
