Description
This book—published on the occasion of Paul Thorel’s exhibition “Un-Vrai-Semblable“ at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris—presents a series of photographs centered around the human figure. This enigmatic series of works, as the entire oeuvre by the English artist, originates from the alteration of the image caused by the bad audiovisual reception that marked the artist’s retinas when he was an adolescent. For Thorel, the original photograph is just a starting point from which the artist slowly moves away through “interferences,“ creating through this layering a multitude of others.
