Maria Antonietta Mameli's photos are the result of a long process that begins with a photograph – in this case, showing the steady flow of people over New York’s Manhattan Bridge – and moves on to a meticulous post-production phase of singling out the oblivious passers-by, isolating them in a vast white field. This publication, with its unique accordion design, reproduces the piece by the same name, in which this theme is repeated for several meters along a wall, forming a diagram or frieze composed of myriad portraits.
