Alessandro Gagliardo – Un mito antropologico televisivo
ar/ge kunst #11
The eleventh issue of the fanzine produced by Mousse for ar/ge kunst features the work of Italian artist Alessandro Gagliardo exhibited in his solo show in Bolzano. Gagliardo’s artistic practice focuses on the impact that the documentary nature of television news exercises on the construction of a mythopoetic interpretation of contemporary Sicilian history. The project, entitled An Anthropological Television Myth, is divided into several chapters, in order to build a complex narrative of the events based on everyday life in the province of Catania and its villages. The images taken from his videos and installation are introduced by a critical text by Luigi Fassi.
