Adelita Husni-Bey. A Holiday from Rules

Adelita Husni-Bey, together with Elisa Strinna, is one of the two winners of the second edition of 6ARTISTA, the prize promoted by the Associazione Civita and the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere.

“A Holiday from Rules” is an artist’s book that accompanies the work carried out by Adelita Husni-Bey during her period of residence. Her project starts from her interest in radical pedagogy and its way of laying the groundwork for an alternative society, different from the one we live in. The project is made up of two works, mainly inspired by anarchist movements and the experience of the Escuela Moderna, established in 1991 in Barcelona by the freethinker Francisco Ferrer y Guardia. The book contains documentary materials from the artist’s research, sketches, notes and photographs, and features an interview between Husni-Bey and the curator of the exhibition, Vincenzo de Bellis.
